Garden Green

The vegie garden this morning. Zucchini, melons, cucs, beans, pumpkins and more..

A couple weeks ago I took some photos with the intention of putting them up on the blog. Of course, with work and finishing up the year with our market stall and everything else I kept on putting it off. When I finally got around to getting the photos ready to put up here, the garden looked so small in comparison to what it is now! So I had to take some new photos..

It was a bit of a shock to look back to old photos of our garden at the beginning of summer! Every day the garden grows bit by bit so it's easy to forget we started from nothing. It's good to go back to the early photos to see what we've accomplished.

Our garden has almost completely outgrown the row covers
This variety of zucchini is known for its enormous leaves
Volunteer tomato that got a little bigger than we bargained for ;)
Pumpkin (squash) reaching for the skies
Melon vines spilling into the lawn, squeezed in between beets and beans
Typical morning squash harvest
Butterfly plant
Pak choy, collard greens and sorrell
Volunteer pumpkin in the compost
Pickling cucumber
The first flowers in our yard were these California poppies we planted
For some reason our autumn-blooming chrysanthemum is already in flower
Volunteer pumpkin in front of cucumbers and winter squash (also called
pumpkin down here, but not the kind of pumpkin you think it is.)
