Warm Weather in Grafton

The last weekend in April we took a little break from autumn by driving east to Grafton for a little summer weather.  It's not too far--about three hours away, and as to be expected, a rather scenic drive.  (Photos from the drive to come next.)

At that point it'd been pretty cool in Armidale, so it felt hot to return to the upper 20s / low 80s!  Grafton is the major city in the Clarence River Valley, and one of its biggest claims to fame is all the jacaranda trees that line the avenues.  The city hosts an annual Jacaranda Festival every spring when the trees bloom, which seems like it would be pretty fabulous.  Perhaps we'll make our way back there next October/November...

Unfortunately we were only there for a day (and mostly for homebrew judging as part of the Grafton Show) so we didn't have a chance to see much of the town.  I took a short walk in the afternoon to a riverside park and snapped a couple photos.
