Bruny Island: The Neck

Low tide.  Looking toward mainland Tasmania across Great Bay
Bruny Island is actually two landmasses which are connected by a long sandy isthmus (named "The Neck" of course.)  There's a popular lookout for sightseeing as well as a birdwatching point for fairy penguins and muttonbirds.  We didn't see any muttonbirds or penguins, but it's a nice view all the same.

Boardwalk down toward the beach
Beach banana
Looking south down the neck.  Adventure Bay (Pacific Ocean) on the left,
low tide Great Bay on the right
Sunset from the lookout
